A year. I’ve been at this blog for an entire year now. I started it as a way to keep my friends and family up to date with our growing family, and it’s grown into so much more for me. It’s become an outlet, a scrapbook, a piece of my life story. And it all started with ice sculptures, which is where we ventured to this past weekend (and by past weekend that means 2 weeks ago, I’ve been busy ok..)
The weather was chilly but the sunshine came out to join us finally. We even lucked out and managed to get prime parking. First things first. Pay the meter. Which according to Hayden $1.25 got us 1,000 years. Who knew weekend rates were so great?!
The sculptures didn’t disappoint. Especially to Hayden.
My tiny companion stayed warm and content and had more interest chewing on his sock wearing hands than the frozen art pieces.
Hayden played on her frozen playground for a while longer until we decided to make use of the nice weather and wander the city a bit.
We wandered the streets until little limbs started to get cold and Hayden dropped her apple in the road, resulting in a complete meltdown. That’s always our cue to pack up ship and head home.
Now for the fun part, a giveaway! To thank all 4 of you for sticking around for the last year, I thought I would join the band wagon and host a giveaway. We picked up a few things during our venture of the city that you just can’t live without! Alright, that is a total lie but who doesn’t freebies?!?! So here’s what you need to do, simply leave a comment on this post telling me what you look forward to in the new year. For me, I can’t wait for all our fun travels we have planned for 2015, maybe it even includes seeing a few of you. In a week, I’ll pick a random winner and send you the best package ever. Because it will have come from me, duh. Now get to it!
I’m gonna be boring and say that I’m looking forward to paying off some debt this year!! Oh, and summer with an active little one- hello kiddie pool at the Aquatic Center!
Oh this is a piece of cake!!! I am so looking forward to our littles ones getting older and becoming the best of cousins. Seriously though… How blessed are we? We have happy healthy chitlens and husbands that go away for 2 weeks at a time. (Only kidding) Here’s to the year, cheers!!
I look forward to be healthy and traveling with my family.
I am looking forward to many more of your blogs. š
I am also looking forward to each day as it comes, being very grateful for every day that I get to wake up healthy and with my wonderful husband’s loving arms wrapped around me.
As a side note, as I always have one, I love your pictures. Seeing the sculptures downtown is one of my favorite things to do, but tough to get my family out there in the cold (honestly, it is tough for me too, but I go downtown quite frequently so I try to pass by there). Shawn and I are doing another scavenger race in March, so hopefully it’ll be a tad warmer. We don’t exactly have the winter gear most people do up here. š
To the year 2015…
I would like to see some changes in my life that will benefit me mentally and physically. Taking more time for myself, appreciating all that I have and care less about what I don’t. Seeing the good in others, always, and not bitch about them later…keeping my head in a positive view š financially, find myself content in not needing more than I can afford and forgetting about whipping out the plastic to cover it! Vacations to see my loved ones is a must, AK Easter here we come!! But to also do mini staycations, get to the beach, camp in the yard…wait no, creepy neighbors…but to cherish the little times spent together and no having to put up much effort to do it! Of course, reading Mi Panda’s blog is top on the list, but that’s a given, cause anything you do I want to be part of! Cheers to Mi Jam to my PB & J…!!! Love from PB aka Beefstick
